Account Creation

The information we ask for on this page allows you to create an account for Oxplore Teach. This process is known as 'account registration'.
We are asking for your personal data (name, email, password and role) in order to create a profile that will track your usage and favourited content on Oxplore Teach.
The University of Oxford is the “data controller" for the information about yourself (‘personal data’) that you provide to us when registering an account.
All data is stored or removed according to our data retention policy highlighted below and is in accordance to the general university policy that is available here (External Link).

Data Retention

Data retention refers to the length of time data will be actively retained by the University before it is destroyed, archived or anonymised.
We will retain and delete your personal data as follows:
Your account registration data will be retained for 3 years following the date of your last login, at the end of which period it will be deleted from our systems together with any usage or notification data that forms part of your overall account profile. This data will not be recoverable.
Data retention practices are evaluated at least every six months.

Your Personal Data Rights

Your data rights include the following:
a) You can request access, correction, updates and/or deletion of your personal data.
b) You have the right to object to the processing your personal data and request the processing be restricted.
c) If you have consented to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to change your mind at any time by contacting us at oxploreteach@admin.ox.ac.uk
d) In this event, we will stop the processing of your personal data as soon as possible. However, your requests may be restricted in certain situations. For example if your request was to compromise another individual’s personal data, or if you ask for the removal of personal data that the University of Oxford has an obligation to keep.
